Reality Bites! 1994!

Okay, so I know we all have different tastes in movies, but this one is on my top 10 favorite movies so I thought I would share. Plus, if you love this movie too let me know what your favorite scene is.

Reality Bites, which was made in 1994 and directed by a fresh faced Ben Stiller (yup he actually directs too) and stars Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke, as well as Janeane Garofalo and Steve Zahan. This was way back when Winona was a hot actress that everyone wanted to see in movies, Ethan was to die for, and did not look quite so used and abused looking, and people actually put Janeane in movies. Oh, and Ben Stiller is in this movie as a kinda boyfriend for Winona, and a nemesis to Ethan.

This movie has really great conversations, funny scenes with great quotes, and the chemistry between Ethan and Winona is  perfection. I love her hair in this movie even in 2012, and Ethan rocks a really great grungy look that only he can do.

At least check out the scene in the convenience store ( Above Photo) when My Sharona comes on the radio. Best scene ever!

I love music from anytime and any style. If you love all types of music, not just stuff from 2012, then check out the soundtrack. Top hits like My Sharona (The Knack), (U2) All I Want is You, Baby I Love Your Way ( Peter Frampton), Stay (Lisa Loeb), Spinning Around Over You (Lenny Kravitz). This soundtrack is really great and is definitely a part of the movie, kind of how the Twilight movie has a really great soundtrack that you notice. So, if you have a boring Friday night coming up.... Reality Bites is waiting for you.

  3. It's one of my favorite movies too! Actually, I just really like 90's movies about angsty people in their twenties. Singles is another classic.

  4. Actually, I didn't watch this until last year...!
We came from a Soul Asylum concert hungry for more of that '90s vibe, and so we watched it.
(Coincidentally, Ryder dated the band's singer back in the day... I'm sure you know!)
