Friday Happiness

Happy Friday! Is anyone as happy about this as me? I'm hoping I don't get called into work tomorrow, just because I would like to rest and get things a bit ready for my vacation. I also need to clean up. That's the great thing about going away. My place is a bit of a mess and with my mom coming to feed my cat while we are away I need to make some effort, I need to take the time and clean. I'm not a neat freak or a total slob, but house cleaning does get neglected. Also, I'd like to get some new items for my shop LOVE n LAVISH photographed and into my shop as well as make a few new items.

I have some news too! We found a kitten and brought it home! Okay, well K's parents found a kitten  on their porch and because I am the animal lover in the family I said I would foster this kitten.If the kitten fits in with my current pets then we will keep it.  I have a dog and cat already, but I have never had a kitten. My first cat was brought home by my dad when I was three so that doesn't count. Then, the cat I had as a teenager was 6 months old when we bought it, and pretty large kitten. Misha, who is my current cat was adopted at age 2 from a shelter.  Any advice from other cat owners who have raised their cat when it was a kitten? This one has a lot of spunk. She or he is about a month old.

Mini Vacation Revisited

 This past summer K and I took a mini weekend vacation to Niagara Falls. We have been there a few times, but this time we went in the middle of the summer. It was a really nice getaway where we ditched the dog and cat and spent 3 days just to ourselves.

That's me sitting under a tree that had some serious character. I love all the bumps on that tree.

I love getting out for long walks and K and I decided to walk from the center of Niagara falls to the Butterfly Conservatory/Botanical Gardens. The pictures above are from that trip. The walk took almost 3 hours which is fine since we took lots of photos and a few breaks along the way. Hope you like! OH COFFEE, How I LOVE Thee..........

This morning I crawled out of bed and did my usual routine. I go to the kitchen with my black kitty following behind, pull out the filter and the tin of coffee  and start a good sized brew of coffee. I'm not even really particular on what kind of coffee. As long as the flavor isn't bitter or too strong, then I'm in heaven once I sip away at that first cup.

I take my coffee black and add ice cubes when I go to places like Starbucks or Second Cup because they make such HOT coffee. Anyway I love Coffee and so does my husband (even more then me if that is possible), and when we got our first dog together, she was really hyper,so we named her Coffee. So, enjoy your Saturday morning and if you LOVE coffee like I do, then I hope you enjoy these pics!

Time to Shop?

Thursdays usually get me excited because I know that the weekend is just around the corner. Sweetness Found in the Morning Fog

This photo is by Steve Mackay and it's called The Doe and the Jackdaw. I saw this photo today and immediately fell in love. The tones and softness of this photo and the the morning fog bring this photo perfectly together. I love that the Doe takes no real notice of the Jackday and is willing to let it just hitch a ride. A sweet friendship maybe?

Thrilled

The weekend is almost near and I can see Friday is just around the corner. It's time for my favorite treat of the week. I'm easy to please...... a warm soak and a large glass of red wine. Any wine recommendations?

I love that fall is still a great time for fashion. I chose three really awesome outfits that are very much my style. I want an item from each photo, if not the whole outfit! Which outfit do you like best?

I think Monday needs something cute to make us smile. I love these clips that you can use for your computer wires that are often out of control and in need of some order.

Falling into Autumn

I would not say that Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. The only reason I dislike fall a tiny bit is because I know that it can be followed by a long Canadian winter of cold temperatures,deep snow and heavy bulky clothing. But today I have decided to share some of the reasons why I do like Autumn.

 These socks are amazing! I love warm fun socks that can make an outfit really fun. I even would wear them miss matched like in the photo.

I love this rustic Autumn inspired Necklace. The leaves are the perfect fall shade and it would look great with a thick warm sweater or cute cardigan.

 Wow,this ceramic bowl is so beautiful! The mix of turquoise and browns are perfect. I could imagine having a warm oatmeal breakfast on a cool October morning in this bowl.

This hair clip immediately made me think fall. I love this oak leaf,it has lovely details and would look great with a fall and winter outfit.

I love the color yellow, and when the leaves start to turn yellow they look so vibrant and warm in the sunlight. I love this photo because I wish I were standing in that forest.

How could I not add some pumpkin foods, which you can only get at this time of year. I love pumpkin pie and those muffins look yummy. I just would need a cup of coffee and I would be in total foodie heaven.

NATURE and HOME DECOR

I've been working on some minimal photography prints for the past little while. I love how even simplicity can be beautiful if the subject is beautiful in its own way. I love leaves and flowers and stones and wood and here are some of the pieces you can find here .

Single Ginkgo Leaf

I have a few more prints and example of how they can look framed and in a home on the wall. I love decorating my own home with others art as well as my own. It give a home the feeling of warmth and interest. I am sometimes shocked to visit someone's home and see very little up on their walls, it's somewhat disappointing.
