Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I love the beginning of a new year and I am hoping that this will be the year that all of my hopes come true. 2016 wasn't too bad, but there were some personal disappointments. That's life, and the journey we are on is different for all of us. I move through it and let it go and have continued hope that 2017 will be a successful year on many levels.

In the photos above we have me with my sweet pup enjoying a spring day, we have photos of some of my favorite items in my shop, I posted one of my favorite wall weavings that sold and I also have a picture of my husband playing Disc at the Island.

I usually like to list goals for the year, but this year I don't want to do that. I know what I want and what I need to do. I hope you have wishes for this year as well and that you get to where you would like to be.

What's New in June

I hope that you have been enjoying the beginning of summer. We have been getting a lot of rain, but there have been some nice sunny hot days to enjoy, like today.

I have been updating my shop slowly and even changing my stock a bit. Here are some fresh new items in my shop, such as a personally hand sawed boho cactus, lots of healing stones with some real beauties like the Emerald and Lapis and Citrine I have added.  I will be adding a few more bracelets to my shop, but right now I have a stunning blue stacking bracelet and a lovely ceramic yoga OM encircled by a lotus flower. Bear and the Adelaide - My New Ring!

I have a bit of a ring obsession, and my favorite stone is Turquoise, which I am sure many of you love too. I like how silver compliments gemstones such as Turquoise and Labordite, and I spend quite a bit of time on Etsy checking out many of my favorite Metalsmith's shops to see what's new. I first found Jessie Corgy on Instagram and was happy to see that she sold her work on Etsy as well. I love Jessie Corgys shop Bear and the Adelaide, because the pieces in her shop are so drool worthy. She doesn't shy away from using the natural oxidation that occurs in metals, highlighting each stunning piece and giving each of her rings a raw beautiful look.

She kindly worked with me on the ring I am wearing, letting me pick the stone that I liked, and I chose a simple braid to go around the turquoise stone and a double split band. I am a huge fan of a brown matrix in Turquoise stones, and this large Pilot Mountain Turquoise stone made me say wow the minute I saw it.

Give a Shit About Nature - Review

I love nature and the beautiful outdoors, and love what Give a Shit About Nature is doing. For every shirt bought 10 trees are planted. When I saw this shirt posted on there Facebook site I got really excited and had to have it, even though I am not a fan of buying clothing online because I find I really need to try clothes on. It did not take long for my t-shirt to arrive (two weeks which is normal), and it's exactly what I was expecting.  I recommend buying one if you love it as much as I do, and you know that your money will be planting beautiful trees. I do suggest (not that they care) that they make a men and women's version,with the women's shirt having more of a scoop neckline and women's fit. Other then that, its perfect and I proudly rock my Give a Shit About Nature shirt on my Instagram page and here on my blog. You can also get in a ladies tank which is perfect for summer, on their site.

Another Anniversary Celebration!

Happy Etsy Anniversary! June 12 2011 I had the motivation and curiosity in me to see what it would be like to open a shop on Etsy. I had to come up with a name, and I had about five products to list ( which I think is kind of funny now),  as well as make my first banner which looked very amateur. Within the first 5 minutes of listing my products I sold a pair of turquoise earrings! I was so excited and naively thought that I would continue to be so easy.

This year I have 71 products listed, my Graphic Design husband does my banners for me now, my photos have greatly improved and I am on my way to my 400th sale! Each year I have a goal, each year I get really excited when I send out an item somewhere new ( this year it was Malta).

I hope that the end of this year and the beginning of the next takes my small business venture somewhere even larger. I want to expand my pieces and educate myself more on the world of jewelry creating, as well as learn even more about running my own online business.

What I Love About JUNE

Tomorrow will be the first of June, and to me that means that summer will have fully arrived. I love the summertime, the heat of the sun, beers on a patio, walks down by the beach in my shorts, summer skirts and the list just goes on.

I took the photo above on my day off this week. K and I went down to the beach area, and it was still cool out with a little heat from the sun.  I brought a few items from my shop and did a little photo shoot. You can see some of those photos on Instagram or in my shop.  It was such a great day and I took a crap load of photos and spent quality time with the hubby. We even brought a few beers and had them on the little rock side.

This photo makes me happy because summer nights and days are on the way. I am hopping to get in more evening runs now that the weather for it is here. If you are a runner, what time of day do you like to run at?  I personally don't have the energy for a early morning run, so 8 pm seems to be the time, since it's cooler, I have the energy and there is less traffic to deal with.

Sunday, a Day to Relax? Nope!

Today I plan on getting out for a nice long run, and I also want to go to the gym to weight train. I just know that I feel best about myself when I am on top of my fitness routine. I hate it when I don't run for a week or two, or I miss the gym for four or five days. Thankfully the sun is shining and It looks like a perfect cool day to get my sweat on.

I also have tried both of my new running shoes that my lovely mom was sweet enough to treat me to. So I have these cool New Balance shoes  and these Purple Asics. After a month of wearing both of them I can now recommend which is the better shoe for running (my opinion). I would definitely recommend the blue New Balance shoes which I talked about in this post. They did not need time for me to work them in, they have a wide foot which I needed, there is super support in the ankle area, and there is not one bad thing I can say about them. My Purple Asics feel nice, but don't feel like they were made for me like the other pair feel. I can't wait to run in the New Balance pair just because I know my feet and legs won't hurt after. In my last post I mentioned that I will be posting an item in my Sale of the Week section in my Etsy shop LOVE n LAVISH. What's in?

This month I have been focusing on buying some new supplies and finding some new stones for my shop. I love the boho look and some of these stones look so beautiful on a long cord necklace.  My favorite new stone that I picked up it the Picasso Jasper which is the triangular stone necklace shown above. It has such character and interesting markings. I have some other stones/necklaces which I haven't added to my shop yet, but my shop is fuller then it has ever been. I hope that you see something you love and want to wear for this summer.
