Summer Catch Up

What a wonderful summer I have been having! The weather has been great and I have had the time to get out. Check out my Instagram for photos and to see what I have been up to, like my trip to the ROM, Center Island, Brickworks, and more. I know I have been missing from my blog, and I have been posting most of my photos on my Instagram page just because it has been a bit easier for me to keep up with.

I have been adding a lot of new product to my LOVE n LAVISH shop for back to school and gearing up for the busy Christmas rush. I also have been teaching myself a bit of metalsmithing, and my goal is to have some beautiful copper and silver rings made for you, and listed up in my shop for Christmas time. What's New in June

I hope that you have been enjoying the beginning of summer. We have been getting a lot of rain, but there have been some nice sunny hot days to enjoy, like today.

I have been updating my shop slowly and even changing my stock a bit. Here are some fresh new items in my shop, such as a personally hand sawed boho cactus, lots of healing stones with some real beauties like the Emerald and Lapis and Citrine I have added.  I will be adding a few more bracelets to my shop, but right now I have a stunning blue stacking bracelet and a lovely ceramic yoga OM encircled by a lotus flower. Another Anniversary Celebration!

Happy Etsy Anniversary! June 12 2011 I had the motivation and curiosity in me to see what it would be like to open a shop on Etsy. I had to come up with a name, and I had about five products to list ( which I think is kind of funny now),  as well as make my first banner which looked very amateur. Within the first 5 minutes of listing my products I sold a pair of turquoise earrings! I was so excited and naively thought that I would continue to be so easy.

This year I have 71 products listed, my Graphic Design husband does my banners for me now, my photos have greatly improved and I am on my way to my 400th sale! Each year I have a goal, each year I get really excited when I send out an item somewhere new ( this year it was Malta).

I hope that the end of this year and the beginning of the next takes my small business venture somewhere even larger. I want to expand my pieces and educate myself more on the world of jewelry creating, as well as learn even more about running my own online business.

This year a goal of mine is to reach far more people across the world. My shop has gotten more viewers over the years, but I would like for it to be a little easier. I have been brainstorming and one of my ideas was to post a video on youtube. I am not ready to post a how to video on youtube, so for now I have a photo video of my favorite pressed flower necklaces from my shop. I hope you can view it and I hope you like it. It was a fun process and something really new for me to do. I hope even more people will find my shop out there on the internet.

NOVEMBER

I really enjoy November, because it's a great time of year. I love that it might snow, the leaves are still turning lovely shades of yellow, red, and orange, and I get to change my wardrobe to all of my warm comfortable clothes. Right now its kind of grey and really windy today, but hey it's November and I can't expect any less.

I also love November because it's the month before Christmas. I'm not a huge fan of all of the Christmas shopping, but because I do love the cute little decorations that you can get at this time of year. I work in retail and two weeks ago we started putting out the beginning of the Christmas stuff. I'm keeping my eye out for a really nice door wreath.  I also bought this really lovely reindeer head painted white and it has a lovely dish at the base of it's neck so you can plop your candies or jewelry in it.

This month I am also gearing up for Christmas time in my shop. I'm going to be working on some more new pieces to add for November, and I hope that everyone is wise this year and they shop early. Last year I had a lot of last minute shoppers who wanted to know if their item could arrive in a day or two. Please shop early if you plan to shop online.

Catching Up

Yikes, has it really been this long since I wrote?! Well my vacation to the Dominican was lovely. The beach was so beautiful and my resort had the best food. It was actually too good and I gained about 6 pounds in 5 days. I will update you on my trip and post some pictures this weekend.

I also was featured with my lovely dog Coffee on this wonderful dog lovers blog called Coffee with a Canine. There are so many of us who love our dogs SO much. I was lucky enough to be able to share my day with all of the bloggers out there. Please check out the blog and my post. I'd love for you to comment too.

I've been getting ready for Christmas time when it comes to my shop on Etsy. There are new items and I even have changed my look and layout in Fauna and Forest. LOVE n LAVISH is two sales away from 200 SALES! Wow! Thank you to all of my wonderful customers! The 200th sale will get a special gift with their sale too.

New is Good

I've been working really hard to add some new items to my shop, and I wanted to share them with you today.  I always get really excited to take the photos, do the edits and then post them to my shops and see how they do. I also will be taking a jewelry course this Fall so stay tuned for some one of a kind handmade rings and necklaces made by me and made of real Silver and Copper.  Which  piece above is your favorite and why?
