NOVEMBER

I really enjoy November, because it's a great time of year. I love that it might snow, the leaves are still turning lovely shades of yellow, red, and orange, and I get to change my wardrobe to all of my warm comfortable clothes. Right now its kind of grey and really windy today, but hey it's November and I can't expect any less.

I also love November because it's the month before Christmas. I'm not a huge fan of all of the Christmas shopping, but because I do love the cute little decorations that you can get at this time of year. I work in retail and two weeks ago we started putting out the beginning of the Christmas stuff. I'm keeping my eye out for a really nice door wreath.  I also bought this really lovely reindeer head painted white and it has a lovely dish at the base of it's neck so you can plop your candies or jewelry in it.

This month I am also gearing up for Christmas time in my shop. I'm going to be working on some more new pieces to add for November, and I hope that everyone is wise this year and they shop early. Last year I had a lot of last minute shoppers who wanted to know if their item could arrive in a day or two. Please shop early if you plan to shop online.

The Beauty of the Wilderness

Last year my husband and I went to San Francisco for a week. It was a beautiful trip and I had a great time. One of the highlights for me was visiting Rodney Lough Jr. Wilderness Gallery , right down by the Fisherman's Wharf. The photographs were amazing and the printing quality was so spectacular that the colors are so vivid (something the Web can't fully capture). I have never seen such large and beautiful nature photographs. The gallery is large and made of reclaimed wood that has this wonderful woodsy smell. My husband and I spent maybe 2 hours in total in the gallery viewing each photo and sitting in the chairs that are conveniently placed in each room. If you make a trip to San Francisco or live there but have never gone in, then make the effort and check it out (it's free too!).

Time to Shop?

Thursdays usually get me excited because I know that the weekend is just around the corner. I like to shop just like the rest of you, and while browsing fashion on Lookbook.nu I found these two looks that I adore. The weekend is almost near and I can see Friday is just around the corner. It's time for my favorite treat of the week. I'm easy to please...... a warm soak and a large glass of red wine. Any wine recommendations?

LOVE IT ! - Friday Finds

I'm not really a name brand kind of girl. I like nice things too, but sometimes buying into a brand is over rated. If I can find something beautiful that is handmade and one of a kind I feel much better about spending the extra bit of cash. BUT, while pinning a few things this morning I found this cute Ralph Lauren Bag. I thought I would share it. I love the design and the mix of materials.

Birthday Plans

Tomorrow is my birthday!! I love my birthday and even if I don't do anything too exciting, it's still a great day. I start my new job next week so I do not have to work or book a doctors appointment just to get out of work (teehee).

Tomorrow I plan on spending the morning with the best guy in the world, my hubby. I'm going to drag us out of bed early, take us down the street to this cute family run breakfast/lunch shop and enjoy my birthday morning. As far as the rest of the day goes, I'll wing it and do whatever I feel like.

Okay, so now I am getting carried away, but man oh man if I had this hot tub or even a chance so soak in it for the day then my birthday would be really fantastic.

What would be a fabulous birthday gift is to get this book by Deborah Harkness, which is the second book of the trilogy. I might cuddle up with my dog Coffee later in the evening and enjoy some red wine and start on the second book.

Anyway, another year to celebrate! I won't blog tomorrow, but I take some pics during breakfast and post them on Wednesday.

Falling into Autumn

I would not say that Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. The only reason I dislike fall a tiny bit is because I know that it can be followed by a long Canadian winter of cold temperatures,deep snow and heavy bulky clothing. But today I have decided to share some of the reasons why I do like Autumn.

 These socks are amazing! I love warm fun socks that can make an outfit really fun. I even would wear them miss matched like in the photo.

I love this rustic Autumn inspired Necklace. The leaves are the perfect fall shade and it would look great with a thick warm sweater or cute cardigan.

 Wow,this ceramic bowl is so beautiful! The mix of turquoise and browns are perfect. I could imagine having a warm oatmeal breakfast on a cool October morning in this bowl.

This hair clip immediately made me think fall. I love this oak leaf,it has lovely details and would look great with a fall and winter outfit.

I love the color yellow, and when the leaves start to turn yellow they look so vibrant and warm in the sunlight. I love this photo because I wish I were standing in that forest.

How could I not add some pumpkin foods, which you can only get at this time of year. I love pumpkin pie and those muffins look yummy. I just would need a cup of coffee and I would be in total foodie heaven.
